A little like poetry

Dear You

i hope you never see this,
i hope you never know
that there are feelings still inside me
saying they won't go

i hope you never guess
that each cheesy line falls flat
that reminiscent moments,
are just memories wrapped in regret

i hope you never realize,
the words i lose for you
The would-bes that i threw away
but would otherwise have come true

i hope you never hear
my mumbles in morning light,
or the breaths that i take
as i whisper your name at night

i hope that i won't crumble
before i get far enough away
hope that it'll be too late
before i figure out what to say

if each word's a lie
please see them as no more than-
A second chance,
and i'll cross and dot the T-s and I-s
my loving you will go no where
but you're never too pointless to give up.
never not worth the ache and tears

for one who faces her giants,
she's found one to run from
though she knows inside
she was doomed from her first I Love You
